Role Overview:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting all operations at The Lobby, including retail sales, art gallery management, and event coordination. This role involves managing product and inventory, providing leadership for part time sales staff, driving sales, maintaining operational efficiency, and delivering an exceptional experience for customers and partners. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience—both in-store and online. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on approach to both strategic and day-to-day responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Product & Inventory Management:
- Oversee select product ordering, including coordination with suppliers, customs brokers, and delivery logistics.
- Oversee the intake of new merchandise—including receiving, unpacking, pricing
- Maintain and update product collections on Shopify, ensuring new arrivals are elegantly featured and categorized.
- Maintain organized inventory storage, both on the retail floor and in the stockroom.
- Conduct quarterly inventory counts.
- Ensure stock areas are clean, accessible, and efficiently maintained.
Retail Store Operations
- Manage daily retail functions in collaboration with the General Manager, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure the store is clean, visually appealing, and aligned with brand presentation standards.
- Deliver outstanding customer service with strong product knowledge and a welcoming approach.
Gallery Supervision
- Serve as the primary contact for gallery visitors, offering information on current exhibits and featured artists.
- Maintain gallery space to meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Event and Partnership Coordination:
- Collaborate with the General Manager to support event logistics, from planning to execution.
- Contribute to event marketing through social media updates and promotional content.
- Manage Client gifting and referral programs.
Marketing and Social Media
- Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute a social media calendar, coordinating product posts, stories, and grid curation.
- Content Creation: work with the General Manager on crafting Instagram posts, stories and reels that enhance The Lobby’s online presence.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in retail, operations, or a related field.
- Proficient with Shopify, Google Drive, and CRM tools (e.g., Sisu, Follow Up Boss) is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A creative eye for merchandising, photography, and digital content is a plus.
Experience with gallery or event coordination is an asset.
