Here are some fun facts about the history of Swarovski crystals. 

Swarovski Crystals was created in 1886 and the company supplied jewelry to Queen Victoria. The founder, Daniel Swarovski's vision was to make diamonds accessible to everyone by making crystals affordable. 

If you look at the back of your earrings, you'll notice that each crystal is covered with a gold foil. This mark authenticates the age of your crystal! Yes, they really are from the 1940's! This methodology is called FOILING and involves applying a thin sheet of metal to the back of the gemstone to reflect more colour in the crystal. 

The fashion world made Swarovski crystals famous and designers like Coco Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, and Schiaparelli all collaborated with Swarovski.
