How are you?

Embroidery thread, quilting cotton, batting, hand embroidered.

This soft sculpture captures feelings of comfort and isolation. The hand-stitched words, “I’m fine thank you” are silent but bold, giving the expected response when someone asks, “How are you?”. The piece looks like a cocoon but is also like a straitjacket, alluding to issues of mental health.
